Week 14-15: A logistical conundrum

FIRST PARAGRAPH: Hello everyone. Work is progressing on the new space at quite a clip—one of the walls is going up as I type this—which means it's time for us to start lining up all our equipment needs. All I have to say about that is... :O

Week 12: Pictures and poll results

FIRST PARAGRAPH: I apologize for the length between updates, but it's been crazy for the last few weeks... with today being no exception. Busy or not, it was high time for me to login and give you guys an update.

Blog poll: How do you get your Moxie showtimes?

FIRST PARAGRAPH: We're doing a quick poll to determine how our customers access our showtimes. If you have a spare 30 seconds, would you mind heading over here and filling out the poll. I'm sure the majority of you use our online calendar, as you're already on our website reading this post, but feel free to also include any of the other mediums you find helpful.

Friday: watch Conan O'Brien tonight

FIRST PARAGRAPH: I'm writing this from my phone, so it's going to be short. Watch Conan tonight and you can see Nicole and I in the third row of the audience. I'm sitting on the aisle in a black shirt. The full story will come later. Adios!

Week 10: Some <strike>good</strike> great news

FIRST PARAGRAPH: Our construction bids came in at the end of last week, and I'm happy to announce that we found a contractor who will complete our project within our allotted budget. That's great news, obviously, but we're not out of the woods yet. While the majority of the construction is theoretically taken care of, we're still on the hook for our entire bar build-out, all our bar equipment, 35mm projection equipment for the second screen, theater chairs, lobby furniture, and finishing the floors. Even still, knowing that 95% of the build-out is taken care of, without us having to use any of our own money up front, is a huge weight off our shoulders. Hopefully we can cover the rest with our super bulk passes and "Friends of the Moxie" memberships (hint hint).

Week 8: The one about rising prices

FIRST PARAGRAPH: *I know this post is a bit long-winded, but there's lots of important goodies in here so don't skip it!

Week 6,7,8: What the crap?!

FIRST PARAGRAPH: What happened? Where're all the posts for weeks six, seven, and eight?! Oh... that's right... I didn't write them! Shame on me. If this blog were a plant, and my writing the equivalent of life-sustaining water, this portion of the website would be as dried up and dead as all those brown plants in our lobby! What can I say... my thumb's about as green as it is awesome*.

Week 5 - Time to buckle down

FIRST PARAGRAPH: Now that we're bearing down on our third year of business, we're finally starting to get a handle on the ups and downs of the cinematic tide. Traditionally, the first quarter of the year is our strongest, followed by the third, fourth, and second. Each quarter is unique in that it offers up various challenges for us to overcome. For instance:

Week 5: The Moxie's New Neighborhood

FIRST PARAGRAPH: Woah! Where did week four go?! I've had a blog post on the cusp of publication for the last week, but for one reason or another I've yet to force it the rest of the way out (yuck!). I'll try to finish it up tomorrow or Thursday and unleash it into the wild.

Week 3: The walk-through

FIRST PARAGRAPH: This last week's been extremely busy, so I apologize for not getting more posts. We had the official walk-through with the city building department on Wednesday at the new location, and it was a breeze... much easier than the last time. The building inspector said the only unexpected item we might have to buy would be a grease accumulator for our bar sink, which won't be too awfully expensive. So, all in all, it was a good week.
