Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway star in Roman Polanski's finely crafted classic that took film noir into its darkest moral territory. What begins as a routine detective job for an average 1930’s gumshoe quickly mushrooms from a simple marital infidelity investigation into a murderous public scandal told with incredible style and innumerable twists and turns. Detective Jake Gittes (Nicholson) is plunged into a complex web of deceit involving murder, incest and government corruption all tied to L.A.’s water supply. Oscar nominated performances by Nicholson and Dunaway, as well as memorable performances by John Huston as Dunaway's corrupt father and Roman Polanski as a sleazy little thug.   Winner of four Golden Globes and nominated for 11 Academy Awards.
