Synopsis
Sort of like Tommy Wiseau’s The Room crossed with Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, Birdemic: Shock And Terror is a remarkable new entry to the cult canon of terrible movies. Clearly directed on a shoestring budget, James Nguyen’s horror flick Birdemic takes place in San Francisco, where flocks of birds have started to revolt, viciously attacking citizens. Terrible special effects, inept dialogue and a long, misguided subplot involving romance between a software salesman and a Victoria’s Secret model have all helped solidify Birdemic’s spot in the pantheon of bad movies. “Howlingly bad films are a dime a dozen, but the evident Ed Wood-like sincerity with which writer-director James Nguyen lovingly crafted this compendium of cinematic don'ts gives it a goofy, almost surrealist charm.” (Ronnie Schieb, Variety)
