Synopsis

Based on a true story of a hermit who lived for forty years in the Tennessee woods. Felix Bush decides it is time to plan his funeral. But his funeral will not be any old macabre occasion. Organized by a local undertaker played by Bill Murray and his sidekick played by Lucas Black, the funeral will be more party than memorial and an event to which anyone and everyone will be invited and at which Bush will reveal a long kept secret.

Reviews

"Felix (Duvall) simply wants to host his own goodbye, maybe have a band, and the reasons why are the reasons Get Low is essential viewing. That, and the acting."

   - John Anderson, Wall Street Journal

"Resonating with warmth and sardonic wit and containing a majestic performance by Robert Duvall."

   - Rex Reed, New York Observer

"Funny, touching and acutely observed film."

   - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

"Duvall and Spacek are so in tune with each other's rhythms -- despite their 20-year age difference -- that it's hard to believe they've never acted together before."

   - Lou Lumenick, New York Post

"This film, calm but full of feeling, relays an intriguing story brought to life by some beautiful actors."

   - Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune
