Moxie Member Page

The News

The Moxie will now be non-profit and operate under new management and ownership.

The Story

After nearly five years in operation, The Moxie joins a long list of great art-house cinemas (Film Forum in NYC, Circle Cinema in Tulsa, the Ragtag Cinema in Columbia, MO) that have transitioned to a not-for-profit model.

FAQ

Do I have to be a member to see movies? Nope.

What "cause" is it supporting? Great cinema in Springfield, whether it's first-run independent films, supporting local filmmakers or expanding community events like the Silent Film series on Commercial Street.

Why would you change the way you run the theater? We aren't changing the way we run the theater! You can expect the same great movies you would never be able to see elsewhere in Springfield. The big difference is that now we can accept tax deductible contributions.

So how can I donate? Four membership levels will be offered, each with perks. The tax deductible portion of your donation is show in brackers.

  • Individual ($100): $6 ticket price (for one person); .50 cent popcorn [$85]
  • Family ($250): 10 free tickets; $6 ticket price (for two); free popcorn [$175]
  • Producer ($500): 20 free tickets; $6 ticket price (for two); free popcorn [$365]
  • Director ($1,000): 50 free tickets; $6 ticket price (for two); free popcorn [$685]

EVERY member gets a mention in a pre-show "member roll call" slide and invites to all the year's special events (director talks, movie dinners, etc...). Checks should be made out to the Downtown Springfield Community Cinema Fund and sent to:

    Community Foundation of the Ozarks
    P.O. Box 8960
    425 e. Trafficway
    Springfield, MO 65801

Donors also can give online at the Foundation's website www.cfozarks.org where they will need to specify the Downtown Springfield Community Cinema Fund.

We look forward to bringing you fabulous films for years to come!
