Take a Photo Tour of The Moxie

Hello and welcome to The Moxie! My name is Dan, and I'm going to take you on a quick tour of the coolest theater in Springfield, MO! Hooray for sentences that end with exclamation points!

Here's what The Moxie looks like from the street... from Walnut Street, to be exact. There's a parking lot directly to the right (West) of the building that says "reserved," but it's really not. Knowledge is power.

We used to have problems with people not being able to find us at night, so we put a few lights up front and VOILA! Now we're the third brightest object in the Western sky. WARNING: Do not look directly at our lights. They are so bright that I had to digitally alter this picture so you could see the building. 100 watts of pure incandescent energy make those bulbs burn!

This is our Dr. Pepper sponsored marquee. Thanks to a disproportionate number of rivets, many of our letters end up leaning sideways or falling of the sign entirely. I'm not bitter though. The sign was free.

Just inside the front doors, on your left, you'll find a menu board with all the daily showtimes. Isn't that exciting?! No? Ok, moving on.

On the right is our wall of posters, where you can see various informative sheets (I didn't want to say "posters" twice) from local artists, bands, and a hodge-podge of cinema-related groups. There's also a plant below... and a GO! Magazine rack.

Directly beyond the exciting showtime menu and poster wall is our MOVIE poster wall. This is probably one of the most popular features at the Moxie, unless, of course, you happen to come in on "shirtless Dan night," when the exit door takes over the top slot.

This is the view from our itty, bitty lobby towards the front door. We have FIVE comfortable folding chairs, lots of informative pamphlets about upcoming local events, and an old night deposit safe that can't be cracked. I'm being totally serious.

See, I told you I was being serious. There's the five folding chairs, the pamphlets, and the unbreakable safe. You might also notice a giant green pole... but you'll have to look pretty hard.

This is the view of our art hall from the itty, bitty lobby. Our exhibits change on a monthly basis, and feature only the coolest of the cool local artists. The bright glowing area at the end of the hallway is our Cinebar, which we'll get to in just a second.

And here's another view of the art hall, but from the Cinebar. See the itty, bitty lobby down there? That's where you just came from. The white plastic receptacles on each side of the hall are recycling bins for glass and plastic. Believe or not, our clientele are WONDERFUL at recycling their trash. Very few theaters can claim that.
