— Matt Donato, IGN

"The film is a beautiful love letter to the city of New York, with lots of shots of busy streets and packed subways, but it’s mostly an incredible showcase for Turturro."

— Andrew Webster, The Verge

"John Turturro, Steve Buscemi, and Giancarlo Esposito all bring a weary soulfulness to the film, helping it cultivate a melancholy tone without tipping into sentimentality."

— Derek Smith, Slant Magazine

"Something truly special, a character study that doubles as a crime drama, a crime drama that also functions as a snapshot in time, a time capsule for a vanishing New York City."

— Joonatan Itkonen, Region Free

"The city may always be changing, but no matter how hard it’s scrubbed, it’ll always have an element of strangely endearing grime, and Turturro’s Harry represents the best of this unexpectedly romantic notion that’s so distinctly New York."
